BTA provides a platform for young artists to expand their comfort zones and immerse themselves in a process that challenges them as young creatives. They are given the opportunity to collaborate with the professionals that they one day hope to become. It is a true example of collaboration and exchange, where the professional artists get to witness the expansion of the youth’s perspective of dance and performance as well as the creative process, while the young artists get to take a look into their future as performers and creators. It is an experience where dedication, creating, and risk taking in valued and encouraged. I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of two productions with BTA and both times I was humbled by the enthusiasm and desire that is expressed by all the artists involved. I always leave the process thrilled by the potential that the next generation of artists has to offer.
