John Litzler

I met Vlad through a student of his while I was in high school. Being from Ohio and not familiar with his movement vocabulary, I was very intrigued the first class I watched. I continued on to pursue my BFA in Dance, during that time taking many trips back and forth from Canada to the US to visit friends and always made time to take a class. During my second year in University, Vlad asked me to be a part of his first BTA show. I loved the complex ideas that he brought to life and the way his words could make people move. Being a part of that show made me realize even more how much people need dance and how much I appreciated being a doctor. She then I have danced professionally all over North America and even toured internationally, always keeping and will be able to create together again.

John Litzler was raised just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. Litzler received a B.F.A. in dance with a concentration in jazz from Point Park University, he appeared in works choreographed by Keisha Lalama-White, Christopher Huggins, Doug Bentz, Kevin Lega Jeff, Gerald Arpino, and Trey McIntyre to name a few. Upon graduation, he accepted a company position with River North Dance Chicago where he performed and toured internationally for two years. During this time performing works by choreographers like Frank Chaves, Ivan Perez, and Adam Barruch. He spent a year working as a professional dancer in Los Angeles, getting the opportunity to perform with artist Sia at Coachella and Boston Calling. These along with dancing for Lion’s Club, Bridge to Artists, The Miss America Organization, C5, and The Chicago Symphony Orchestra have kept him intrigued with dance and its possibilities. Outside of performing he has a passion for teaching and expanding his knowledge for the art. He is excited to be back in Cincinnati and sharing with students on a regular basis with hopes to create pop-up dance shows around the city.
